<\/code><\/code><\/code>(Well actually, we were off yesterday!) Ms. Vandura, Mr. Scamp, Maggie and I are headed to Glacier National Park for a security job up there.<\/p>\n

This will be the first test run of the ‘post by email’ system! (Not only could it look odd, but no pictures on this guinea pig test run until I figure that out.)<\/p>\n

Bleh, my dad, lover of roasting temperatures would be so thrilled – it was stifling HOT today. I’m really glad Ms. Vandura’s A\/C works. We’re sitting right now in Bozeman, MT (quite surrounded by mountains) where the elevation is a little higher and it’s clouded over so it’s much more tolerable to park and rest for awhile.<\/p>\n

Maggie has had moments of being anxious but she’s doing fairly well, considering. She’s eating (that’s how I know how she really feels!) and sometimes she crawls into my lap for reassurance. I put her leash and harness on yesterday at a Wyoming rest area and she was all beside herself that she was allowed out the door! She even crawled back to the van’s running board and lounged, dangling a furry elbow off of it just looking around in disbelief.<\/p>\n

For those of you who read my blog and were present on a trip to Yellowstone a few summers ago – do you remember after passing through Billings having to slow down to 45 mph every few miles for construction? It’s still there!<\/p>\n

Let’s see: Tiny cast-iron fry pan? Great for fried sandwiches.<\/p>\n

Mill powder? Thumbs up! I shook up about a 4 oz batch (you just mix it with water) and I gave it a test whirl in my coffee. I couldn’t tell the difference; no weird ‘powdered milk’ taste noticeable at all. The brand is Peak. I’ll be buying more of that. Much lighter and easier to store than a gallon of the liquid form.<\/p>\n

So far, the Vandura\/Scamp combo is averaging about 13 mpg overall, with hill climbing. This is with non-ethanol fuel (when I can get it). This van is a 2500 and a high-top conversion.<\/p>\n
